The EMS LYNX Automated Tissue Processor represents the most thoughtfully designed solution to the rapid processing of tissue in Electron Microscopy as well as Histology Labs.

The EMS LYNX Processor is a reliable unit offering consistent and reproducible results and it is able to do the most monotonous and potentially hazardous procedures with a push of a button affording the end user time to do other procedures.

The unit offers a significant reduction in the use of and exposure to many chemicals and allows for the processing of tissue all the way through 100% resin. Specimens are prepared from pre-fixation to infiltration in a wide range of times (1 minute to 99 hours and 59 minutes), temperature (4ºC - 60ºC) and agitation (frequency 1 Hz; agitation stroke 3mm).

During Processing, the specimens are retained in baskets stacked on a common stem which is pivoted on an agitation arm located at the fixed processing station. Up to 20 reagent vials are held on the turntable which rotates in a pre-programmed sequence, providing automatic transfer of specimens from one vial to another.

Each of the 20 vials can be independently programmed using the membrane keyboard and display. Up to 10 programs can be permanently stored and there is a built-in lithium battery providing protection in case of mains failure. A three way key switch protects against unauthorized access, accidental program erasure, and provides a test mode facility. Any program sequence can be selected, reviewed, and modified as required and specimens and reagent vials can be accessed.

A facility for remote alarm is provided in the event of a mains power failure or processor malfunction. The rechargeable battery ensures the vials revert to the raised position so that the specimens are protected from degradation.
