Connecticut Fertility Clinic Builds One Of Nation's Most Technologically Advanced IVF Labs

In vitro fertilization (IVF) and other infertility procedures are primed for success at Reproductive Medicine Associates of Connecticut (RMACT) in 2015. The Connecticut fertility practice has built one of the most advanced embryology labs in the country, creating an environment optimized for embryo care.

(PRWEB) - Reproductive Medicine Associates of Connecticut (RMACT), which is moving to a new location in Norwalk, CT in January 2015, will have one of the most technologically advanced embryology laboratories in the nation. The scientific backbone of any fertility practice is its embryology lab, and RMACT’s new embryology lab will give its fertility team access to the latest medical advancements in order to maximize IVF success rates.

An embryology lab, sometimes called an in vitro fertilization (IVF) lab, is where a fertility team conducts IVF procedures, embryo testing and cryopreservation. RMACT’s partners and embryology team designed their new lab, including the architectural plans and equipment selection. Each decision – from the workflow to paint selection to ventilation – was made based on the scientific activity and delicate handling of embryos and oocytes. The environment has the latest technical advances for air quality inside and outside incubators and minimizes the external factors, such as light and oxygen, which affect embryo health. Furthermore, each incubator will house individual patient’s embryos and there is ample room to maintain cryopreserved eggs and embryos. The lab is prepared for the increasing use of embryonic testing to screen embryos for chromosomal abnormalities prior to embryo transfer, a process called Comprehensive Chromosome Screening (SelectCCS).

Patients from 46 states and eight countries come to RMACT for its advanced fertility care. In its current lab, RMACT is forecasting 1,800 medically-advanced procedures and surgeries such as vaginal oocyte retrievals and IVF embryo transfers in 2014. The new lab will give these types of procedures an additional edge and chance for success starting in January 2015.
