CAM-PLUS Series of Contact Angle Meters
The Tantec CAM-PLUS series of contact angle meters are rugged, simple-to-use, highly repeatable QC and analytical tools for measuring the contact angle on a variety of substrates. Using the patented projection screen HALF-ANGLE measuring technique, the Tantec CAM-PLUS series of contact angle meters bring simplicity of measuring to the QC, R&D or process areas. They bring highly repeatable contact angle measurements, as well as, detailed surface energy analysis to users in a simple-to-use fully-integrated package. They can be used for evaluation of solid surfaces for adhesion, determining the
hydrophobic and hydrophilic nature of the substrate, surface cleanliness or liquid absorption rates.

Half-Angle Technique-Repeatability in Measurements
By drawing a line through the Apex of the droplet from the interface point between the liquid/solid surfaces, the contact angle can be more absolute and repeatable as compared to tangent line approaches. This eliminates potential sources of human error in measurement of finding the tangent line.

Projection Technique - Simplifies Discussion of Results
By projecting the image of the droplet as it sits on top of the substrate, several students, researchers or QC personnel can simultaneously discuss the results of the work. The droplet image is magnified and displayed right-side-up for simpler measurements.

Other Advances
Several other features make the CAM-PLUS series a "plus" to work with. The newly developed fiber optic light source increases the light intensity for easier measuring in brightly-lit rooms and defines the image more crisply. The micrometer syringe assembly assures measured droplets can be formed time and time again.

Different Models for Different Applications-Same Basic Features
The CAM-PLUS series comes in a variety of configurations for differing applications:

  • MICRO for objects up to 2" x 2" (50 x 50mm) for standard applications, including wire and small tubings up to 1/8" diameter.
  • SLF for PBGA, BGA substrates
  • FILM for measuring the corona treatment level prior to printing, coating or laminating (for measurements as per ASTM and TAPPI standards)
  • WAFER for measuring larger objects from 4-8" in diameter such as CD, LD or silicon wafers
