A2LA Accredits Forensic Proficiency Testing Provider
The American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) is proud to announce the accreditation of Forensic Assurance, A2LA’s first Forensic Proficiency Testing (PT) Provider.
Frederick, MD (PRWEB) - The American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) is proud to announce the accreditation of Forensic Assurance, A2LA’s first Forensic Proficiency Testing (PT) Provider. Through assessment to ISO/IEC 17043 and the A2LA general requirements for accreditation, Forensic Assurance is now accredited to offer the following proficiency testing schemes: forensic biology, DNA, body fluid identification, firearms identification, fingerprint identification, and toolmark identification.
Forensic Assurance (http://www.forensicassurance.com), located in Northville, MI, received its initial accreditation on August 15, 2013. Mr. Brandon Giroux, President at Forensic Assurance, commented that “Forensic Assurance is honored to be formally accredited by The American Association for Laboratory Accreditation as having met the ISO/IEC 17043:2010 Standard. We are proud to be the first forensic science proficiency testing company to be ISO accredited, particularly given A2LA's substantial role in providing world-class accreditation services. The A2LA proficiency testing accreditation program is just one of many offered by A2LA to those organizations working in and for the forensic industry, including:

- ISO/IEC 17020 for their crime scene work;
- ISO/IEC 15189 for their medical testing and pathology work;
- ISO/IEC 17043 for their proficiency testing programs; and
- ISO Guide 34 for their reference material producer activities.
