Southampton, PA - NewAge Industries now offers medical-grade silicone tubing and hose for applications such as medical devices, pharmaceutical processing, laboratory uses, surgical drains, peristaltic pumps, dental equipment, blood and biological fluid handling, dialysis machinery, even food and beverage uses. The tubing (unreinforced) and hose (braid reinforced) are manufactured in-house and well stocked for immediate or JIT shipment.

Silicone addresses several issues that must be considered when selecting the best tubing materials for medical-related uses. Can it handle a wide range of temperatures, including fluctuations in those temperatures? Is it non-toxic? Manufactured in a controlled environment or clean room? Is it sterilizable? Reusable? Flexible? How does it handle electrically-associated applications?

NewAge Industries' medical-grade silicone tubing (called Silcon Medical) and hose (Silbrade Medical) offer non-toxic ingredients. The silicone elastomer meets USP Class VI and NSF-51 requirements, as well as FDA standards for use with food contact surfaces. Both products are manufactured in a controlled environment and are extremely flexible, translucent for visual contact with the flow, odorless, tasteless, and nonreactive to body tissues and fluids. Silcon Medical withstands temperatures from -100°F (-73°C) through 400°F (204°C), while Silbrade Medical handles -80°F (-62°C) to 350°F (176°C). Both items are sterilizable, reusable, and exhibit inertness to U.V., radiation, and ozone.

Silcon Medical and Silbrade Medical are peroxide-cured products. Silcon Medical is stocked in 22 sizes ranging from .012" to 3/4" I.D.; Silbrade Medical is offered in eight sizes from 1/8" to 1" I.D. Platinum-cured versions, for the highest degree of purity and the fewest extractables, and industrial grades are also available.
